The UAT.GYURZA-02 was developed by the design and engineering division of UKR ARMO TECH and represents a family of new wheeled armoured fighting vehicles.
The vehicle has high dynamic qualities, improved cross-country performance and ride smoothness, and the ability to cover long distances at a high average speed.
One of the main advantages of the vehicle is its specialized chassis, which is manufactured to order by UKR ARMO TECH.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS

The GYURZA-02 received a chassis designed specifically for an armored fighting vehicle.

To improve the vehicle’s cross-country ability and maneuverability in difficult conditions, taking into account the weight of the armored capsule, an independent double wishbone suspension, a drive, a central tire inflation system and other elements of the chassis system were designed.

The GYURZA-02 is equipped with an electronically controlled diesel engine, automatic transmission, pneumatic control of high- and low-speed transfer units, and a twin-pipe pneumatic brake system.

Movement in difficult conditions is provided by a 6-cylinder Cummins high-performance diesel engine with an extremely quiet sound and a long service life (more than 350,000 miles).
The reinforced chassis ensures reliable operation of the 16-ton armored vehicle in various landscape conditions. It gives the vehicle the ability to overcome steep climbs and eliminates rollover. Control during sharp maneuvers is smooth and convenient.

The GYURZA-02 can move without restrictions in dense urban traffic and is suitable for use on all types of roads and off-road in temperate areas. The operating temperature range is from -40°C to +50°C.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) are armored vehicles that have become indispensable for the movement of personnel on the front line. The bodies of such vehicles are made of special steel, which provides increased ballistic protection according to STANAG 4569 Level 2. Although MRAP is one of the best modern solutions, UKR ARMO TECH is constantly improving the protection of its armored vehicles. The development of destruction means requires maximum reliability of armored vehicles, including through enhanced anti-drone and mine protection.

The armored vehicles of UKR ARMO TECH, and GYURZA-02 in particular, have a V-shaped lower body to dissipate explosion energy and special seats with shock absorption from explosive loads. Mine blast resistant seats have 5-point seat belts and have been tested in accordance with NATO AEP STANAG 4569. Additionally, the inside of the armored capsules of the vehicles is covered with anti-shrapnel lining, which protects the crew and internal equipment from free-form fragments weighing 1.1 g at a speed of 500 m/s.

The global use of FPV drones and the constant expansion of their destruction capabilities require certain process and design solutions to ensure that armored vehicles are minimally vulnerable.
To counter enemy FPV drones, UKR ARMO TECH vehicles are equipped with modern onboard electronic warfare systems as standard equipment with operating frequency 150-1030 MHz.
Additional steel screens – anti-cumulative protective grilles – are placed at a distance from the main armor, without limiting the functionality of the equipment and without complicating its operation.

UKR ARMO TECH successfully cooperates with Ukrainian technology companies and offers customers a number of options for equipping the vehicle with additional advanced systems.

For example, the GYURZA-02 can be equipped with a hardware and software system for detecting FPV-type threats “FlyOff”, designed for radio monitoring, determining the direction of radio sources, processing and recording direction finding data in real time, displaying detected threats on the map and issuing commands to various types of electronic warfare (EW).

ARMAMENT:

The GYURZA-02 is equipped with the weapon station (automatic unmanned combat turret) manufactured by UKR ARMO TECH with partner company –SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION ASSOCIATION UKRAINIAN DEFENSE TECHNOLOGIES. Tactical and technical characteristics of the module:

  • Height: 850 mm, Length: 1700 mm, Width: 1225 mm;
  • Weight of the weapon station (with weapons and fire control system) 370 kg (450 kg)
  • Autoacquisition; Aiming accuracy: <0.5 mrad;
  • Optoelectronic module: day and night imaging, laser rangefinde;
  • Fire control computer with advanced functions;
  • Ability to fire on the move (stationary or moving targets, ground and air);
  • Armor protection: STANAG 4569 Level 1

The main weapon is the M2 Browning 12.7 machine gun with a 300-round ammunition.

ERGONOMICS:

The GYURZA-02 design provides for the separation of the crew and troops from the engine and transmission compartment and fuel tanks.

The arrangement of the armored vehicle is optimal and proven: engine in the front, crew compartment in the middle, and the landing compartment in the rear.

  • Each seat has individual holders for personal weapons and ammunition;
  • The seats are designed to save lives during mine detonation;
  • Noise and thermal insulation, air ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems. The control compartment includes the driver’s and commander’s seats;
  • Loading and unloading of personnel is carried out through 5 doors.
  • All doors are equipped with bulletproof windows, and the landing doors are additionally equipped with embrasures with flaps for firing.
  • Special door mechanisms are easy to operate and ensure reliable operation of armored doors weighing more than 300 kg.
  • The crew compartment is designed to accommodate long periods spent in the vehicle: the personnel compartment is spacious, with a comfortable internal height

Two emergency hatches are provided on the roof for emergency evacuation of the crew in case of damage to the vehicle.

Ballistic glass:

Ballistic glass, an important safety element, provides a level of protection not lower than that of the corresponding armored vehicle hull projections.:

  • At the same time, it does not reduce visibility, which is very important in ambush or patrol modes.;
  • We use certified bulletproof glass with protection L2/L3, multilayer, made of pressed plates of shatterproof glass and a transparent polymer adhesive film, which are integrated into a monolith;
  • On the inside, the glass is additionally covered with a special film to prevent fragments from getting inside;
  • disc brakes and twin-pipe pneumatic brake system;

    The car is also equipped with anti-shatter, protected rear view mirrors..

    The basic equipment of the vehicle includes systems for general communication, navigation and driver assistance in night conditions (infrared detectors and a camera). A high-quality 360° terrain scanning is provided by 4 cameras: daytime surveillance information is displayed on the screen between the commander and the driver, and nighttime surveillance information is displayed in front of the driver.
    Blackout is provided by special headlights. When the blackout mode is activated (with a single button), all interior and exterior lighting is turned off. In this mode, only the monitor of the night vision device operates.

    In the manufacture of armored vehicles, foreign-made alloy ballistic steel is used, which integrates an ultra-high level of hardness with excellent strength and high ductility. It provides all-round armor protection for the crew, troops and internal equipment under fire not lower than Level 2 and Level 3 of NATO AEP-55 STANAG 4569.

    Armor steel is tested in accordance with the requirements of the state standard “Protection of armor of specialized vehicles. General Technical Requirements” by certified laboratory of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
    The compliance of UKR ARMO TECH armored vehicles with the requirements of special-purpose products is confirmed by NATO nomenclatural numbers (NSN): The classification includes products manufactured for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations and can be exported by Ukraine.
    The GYURZA-02 has received an upgraded fire extinguishing system with autonomous functionality for individual units. The automatic system is equipped with the relevant detectors. Typically, tactical vehicle manufacturers install fire extinguishing systems only in the landing and engine compartments. UKR ARMO TECH defines fire protection of wheel arches as an additional factor in the stability of its armored vehicles.

    In order to prevent the armored vehicle from losing its ability to move in combat and turning into a static target, the GYURZA-02 armored vehicles have been tested with in-house developed fire protection systems that are triggered separately for each wheel in case of fire. The multi-zone external protection system limits the impact of explosives and incendiary ammunition on the tires, which significantly increases the crew survival in conditions of comprehensive fire damage.

    A modern filter-ventilation system protects personnel from the negative effects of chemicals often used by the enemy. The system operates in extreme conditions when the environment is unfit or unbreathable.

    EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY

    Advantages in modern warfare are largely determined by technology. That’s why we pay special attention to the ability to equip our vehicles with the latest systems, including artificial intelligence, to help military units perform their work effectively.
